Parts of a fraction
Fraction bar- It is the line which separates the numerator and denominator.
Numerator- It is at the top of a fraction bar that tells how many parts is a whole divided.
Denominator- It is at the bottom of a fraction bar which shows how many parts are taken.
Numerator- It is at the top of a fraction bar that tells how many parts is a whole divided.
Denominator- It is at the bottom of a fraction bar which shows how many parts are taken.
Proper, Improper and Mixed Number
Proper Fractions - Numerator < Denominator
Proper fractions have the numerator part smaller than the denominator part,
for example 1/2, 2/5 or 19/20.
Improper Fractions - Numerator > Denominator or Numerator = Denominator
Improper fractions have the numerator part greater or equal to the denominator part,
for example 7/6 or 3/3.
Mixed Number - Numerator + Denominator + Whole Number
Mixed fractions have a whole number plus a fraction, for example 2 and 3/4 or 123 and 7/8 .

Multiplying Fractions
Ex. 1/2 x 4/5 = 4/10 or 2/5
In multiplying fractions, first multiply the numerators of the two fractions then their denominators and simplify if necessary.
